Graphing with Song Ratings- Scientific Method, Learning to Graph, etc...

This is a great engaging activity for students to learn about making a data table and a graph. They will choose 30 seconds of a song to be played for the class, everyone else will rate it on a scale of 1-5, then they will make a data table with their results and graph them.I have paper rating cards included in this document, but I have also used a google form! If you would like a copy of the rating google form send me a message after you purchase and I will share it with you :)It can be used for

Identifying Increasing and Decreasing Intervals - Quadratic Functions

This document is a "How to Guide" that offers step by step instructions on how to identify increasing and decreasing intervals of polynomial functions. It uses a quadratic example to get students started with the concept of a turning point, what that actually means, and how intervals relate to the domain, x-axis, and a visual of the number line. This is a great reference for your algebra one, algebra two, and even pre-calc classes!

Song about GRAPHING A POINT. Includes lyrics, animation, and music. From SkitSoPhrenia and I Feel A Song Coming On by Cindy Boyd. I use to reinforce and reteach what I have taught. No vocals at this time. I use smilies whenever possible because all my students identify with them as they have no characteristics that denote race.

I rewrote the lyrics to the popular song "Shake It" by Metro Station for my Algebra I students. The new words describe the process of graphing lines and linear inequalities. My singing voice leaves a lot to be desired, but the math content is solid and the kids thought it was hilarious! The students had a BLAST making the music video. Please check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eiwi3FvQumU Feel free to pass it around as much as you like!

Isometric Graph Paper (Blank) - 3D - FREE

FREE. When I was teaching, I used to search the internet at the last minute at times because I did not have a sufficient number of isometric sheets for the 4th rotation. Hence, I saved resources like this...and printed them as I needed them. Students from 4th grade and up should become competent in drawing in three dimensions - it just takes some practice and they are good to go. rectilinear graphing... I made this up using MS Word - and put it through a Image processor - GIMP. Nothing spec

Need a fun and interactive way for students to remember how changing a variable in a sinusoidal function changes the function? For y = a sinb (x-c) +d form. This is an excellent way to start or end a class and connection with a variety of learning preferences (music, kinesthetic, visual).
