Students observe patterns to plan and conduct an investigation to classify fabric samples in these activities and assessment aligned to the *Next Generation Science Standards. These activities begin with a whole class review of the properties of matter using fabric scraps.This is followed with a study of one fabric " My Fabric" and discussion of the sources of fabrics.Next, an individual assessment is provided in which students investigate the properties of fabrics and classify fabric samples
