Smart STEM Tallest Christmas Tree
Tis the season for holiday STEM! Here is a SmartBoard activity that I made for a 2nd grade class. This Smart has directions, materials, charts and timers for the activity. Students are to build the tallest Christmas tree that they can in 15 minutes. At the beginning, I have the jobs broken down. For my class, I will not assign specific jobs, but for some classes it could be needed. For older grades, have the students graph their data they collected.

This Smart Board presentation walks the teacher and students through an excellent hands-on activity, using goldfish crackers and post-it notes, to work on discovering patterns. Simple Machines and how they work and quiz!
This is a Smart board notebook lesson that supplies information about what are simple machines and how they work (small video attached). You will have students manipulating various objects and pictures to increase motivation on exploring the different kinds of simple machines that are in our reach. Linear Motion Notes, Graphs, and Mathematics (Smart Board)
This Smart Board presentation covers linear motion as taught in a General Physics class. It has developed over 34 years of teaching physics. (It could be simplified to a lower level of physical science.) It covers the concepts of distance, displacement, speed, velocity, and acceleration. It relates linear motion to displacement (position) vs time graphs as well as velocity vs time graphs. Code Breaker Logical Thinking Smartboard Game
In this game one person (the code maker) comes up with a four color code and the others (code finders) have to guess the code. The code maker provides hints to the code finders via colored feedback. Red feedback means the finders have the right color in the right place. White feedback means the finders have the right color in the wrong place. No feedback means the finders have the wrong color completely.
The finders are given anywhere from five to seven rounds to solve the code.
