After watching Disney's Inside Out, my students (7th grade gifted) completed a Reader Response entry using the movie as the inspiration for one of their favorite books. They brainstormed the emotions which control the main character, then wrote RACE paragraphs (Rewrite, Answer, Cite, and Elaborate) for each emotion. In addition, they drew a major scene from the book from the perspective of headquarters (with all the emotions interacting).
