Mini-Golf Vector Activity - Adding Multiple Vectors

Created by
Dunigan Science
This fun 50 minute activity is designed to simplify resolving vectors into components and determining the magnitude and direction of the resultant when multiple vectors are added. It is appropriate for on-level up to AP Physics and for a pre-calculus class.Presented as a 9 hole round of mini-golf, students use colored pencils to resolve vectors into x and y components using a grid, add those components to create a resultant and then calculate the magnitude and direction of the resulting vector.

Ethical & Equity-Based Issues in STEM Unit

This unit acts as the foundation for addressing ethical and equity-based issues in the STEM field with your classes. It includes demographic data dives, ethical debates, group discussions on bias in STEM, and so much more. I've also included my original planning doc for more ideas and broader questions to work off of if you'd like to add to or expand on the resources already provided. I've designed it so the unit could be dispersed throughout the year or completed in a 2-3 week timeframe. It's c

This lab is super inexpensive and so much fun! Students construct a four sided plastic prism from transparency film to view hologram videos found on Youtube. This quick and easy activity is related to light and reflection and is a great follow up to the physics of mirrors. It’s also a great filler for one of those odd days where one glass is longer than the others or if you need to wow your supervisor. You can make four viewers per sheet of transparency.
