This week long lesson uses 5 nonfiction texts about dogs to compare and contrast the different breeds. Students will use the text to fill in a Dog Matrix. The matrix will then be used to help them pick the right dog for customers as they pretend the work at a pet store. Students will need to sythesize the information from the text and what they already know about people and pets to choose the correct pet for each family. This is one of my classes favorite activities of the year.
