Free 5th grade Thanksgiving science resources for parents
Disguise a Turkey Project
In this project, students will work with their family to disguise a turkey to prevent it from getting eaten for Thanksgiving. Students will take a turkey body home (printed on cardstock) to disguise it with family members. Once it is brought back to school, students will write about the turkey and how it survived Thanksgiving!
I've done this activity with my students for years, and the students and parents love it! It's so much fun seeing the disguises they come up with.

How to Cook a Turkey Class Book

One of my favorite activities to do during Thanksgiving is to compile a "How to Cook a Turkey" class book to send home with each kiddo for Thanksgiving. I simply type up what each of my kinder-kids say and copy a page for each student, place them all together, and create a funny, memorable book that they can share with their family!
