Simple and Basic Resource for students to practice knowing quadrilaterals. Students must be able to reason the patterns out of quadrilateral hierarchy. Practice, Repetition and Reflection are the three key arenas to accomplish this task. Use in small group, spaced repetition, tutoring, mini-lesson , quick review, or math groups. Free Resource.
These short exercises afford students to view geometric elements in isolation with only line segments and application line segments with 2-D figures (rectangle, square, rhombus, triangle and trapezoid). Students often struggle to mentally view a 2 dimensional figure as a series of connected line segments. Use with spaced repetition, math groups, homework or quick mini-lesson reviews. FREE resource. Best to you and your students. Blaine Helwig
Editable syllabus template featuring black and white scribble design. Originally used for an Honors Geometry course, but is editable for your own personal use. Make edits on Google Slides (using the file download attached) and then download the final version as a PDF for your students.
These simple sheets are practice sheets for beginning use of protractors. The methodology requires the student to FIRST identify the angle type (acute, obtuse, right or straight). Then, read the measure of the angle. The teacher should require students to reflect, "Does your angle type match the actual measure of the angle?" This step requires students to ascertain if their measurement is in line with the angle type and attempts to prevent misreading the protractor. FREE RESOURCE.
This is a basic Math assessment that is applicabe for Ontario Kindergarten students. It's an oral and observational assessment (not requiring writing or drawing by students, which may be limited by fine motor skills).I've used this assesment with both Year 1 and Year 2 Kindergarten students and they take about 10 minutes each, so attention is maintained. You will assess:- shape identification (square, circle, rectangle, triangle)- numeral names (0-10)- counting quantities to ten- extending and cr

This is a basic assessment for names, symbols, and values for Canadian coins and bills. I have not included Canada's 50-cent piece in this product.I've also included black-and-white and colour images of money (clipart) to use to assess students. You could also use play money, real money, or pictures of Canadian money from the Internet.Like this resource? Please leave some feedback so I know it was helpful to share with you! This resource is an application of angle measurements and a Common Core and TEKS requirement. Students are asked to find a missing angle (subtraction) of two adjacent non-overlapping angles OR the total angle measurement (addition) of two adjacent non-overlapping angles. I put this resource in two forms (Version 1 and Version 2). Version 1 is what the state standards assess. Version 2 is making the computation directly from a protractor after the calculation of angle measurements have been m

Have you ever thought about why a “3” stands for three or
why a “4” stands for four? This activity provides an element of novelty where students gain an appreciation for research by discovering the origin of our number system.
The student will have an opportunity to:
• collect information from multiple sources
• generate research topics from personal interests
• ask open-ended research questions
clarify, evaluate, and synthesize collected information

These practice sheets provide angle identification of acute, right, obtuse and straight angles. They also adapt the angle identification in to an application process of identifying the angles in a 2-dimensional shape. These sheets are useful for guided math, tutoring, quick homework review of the core lesson or spaced repetition. Please note: The teacher will need to do a mini-lesson on angle description where the vertex is defined as the middle letter. For instance, Angle GOT has 'O' as th
Have you ever wanted to take you class outside for math class? I have and this product is perfect for any 1st-3rd grade classroom. Students will identify and name cylinders, rectangular prisms, cones, spheres, pyramids and triangular prisms.
To start this lesson you might want to review the shapes in the product. Then go outside and let the students explore and find shapes that look like 3D shapes. Afterwards, you can review the student responses as a class. From start to finish this act
Line Segment Practice - 3 Sheets with Solutions.
Teacher will need to thoroughly model with students. Generally speaking, this is difficult for students - segments are more difficult than lines.
Perpendicular assumes intersecting on the practice sheets.

The tangram is an old Chinese game with shapes which is focused on build up silhouettes by using all pieces of the game without placing one on the other. This game helps to develop: - The spatial thinking - The notion of depth helping kids to differentiate shapes from the background. - Stimulates the visual memory needed in the reading and writing process. - Helps to infer about the perceptions we receive from senses. - Increases the ability to concentrate
Basic 'Stem and Leaf' diagrams with questions on the plots - use with students as mini-review lessons (half-sheets). Also, resource may be used for small group tutoring or homework, if needed. This graphing exercise is a Texas Essential Knowledge Skills (TEKS) requirement for 4th and 5th grades. At first, like all things in life, it is difficult for students to read these type of graphs; however, with small amounts of practice, they become quite adept. Common Core State Standards (CCSS) do n
This resource contains printable tickets for assessment in mathematics. The idea is that whenever the students prove their skills in a certain topic the tutor ticks the box or punch through the card. The two colored pictures are from the Norwegian version, but this resource is the English version. This is a great way for teachers, students and parents to keep track of progress and know what they need to work on.Tickets for assessment are divided into 17 cards with 10 tickets/goals for each card.
