This is a word book that I have created for my K-5 ELL students, but I have used it in the general classroom setting as well. Anytime a student needs to look up a word or asks you how to spell a word, he or she MUST write it in his/her word book so that he/she won't have to ask again. By the middle of the year, the students have created a great resource for themselves - like a personal dictionary!

Reading Comprehension Practice with Writing Prompt
This contains two brief articles about sustainability and renewable energy sources. Information in the articles was compiled using various news and educational online resources. They contain a bibliography with links to the original sources. Each article contains vocabulary words that are defined and highlighted in the piece.
