COMPREHENSION PRACTICE with Frog and Toad
Kids love Frog and Toad, so it’s easy to get reluctant or struggling readers to read the stories. I used this to my advantage and created this resource to introduce evidence-based reading to my struggling readers by using multiple choice questions that are easy to answer. This boosted their confidence and encouraged my small-group-kiddos to stay engaged. Most of the multiple-choice questions are on the knowledge level that only have two choices and can be answered by looking back at the passage.

Students also learn that this is a great way to determine if a book is a ‘good fit’ for them. After introducing this method to my students, our weekly school library visits took much longer.
