Nicolas Morgan Born Teacher

My 22 years as an educator have been in the area of Special Education. I've worked with a wide spectrum of students in that time. I've learned that the term "learning disabled" simply means that an individual learns in a way that is different.

My teaching style has developed around the concept of inductive reasoning. In other words, I like to teach from the bottom - up, focusing on the 'how' skills are accomplished, allowing my students to discover the 'why' as the skill is mastered. I've created materials over the years that require the least possible amount of procesing so that the main concepts can be grasped without being confused by the steps involved in completing the assignment. Of course, this approach has come about as result of my years of working in Special Ed.

I am an active member of the Texas Archeological Society and an Archeological Steward with the Texas Historical Commission. In these capacities, I have opportunities to work with young people ranging from elementary through university students.
