I made a game based on Scene It DVD game, in which I show my kids a clip from a movie and then ask them 5 questions about it. This forces students to listen and pay attention to details. Sewing a Button Tutorial and Video
This is a step by step photo tutorial that will guide students through the process of sewing a 4-hole button. This method stresses the use of a spacer while sewing to create a shank that allows the fabric space to loop over the button, reducing stress on the garment. Voice & Diction - Acting - Open Scenes Practice
This lesson includes a YouTube link to a sample open scene for students to watch. Open scenes are short scenes that student can perform vocally. Depending on how they choose to use their voices with rate, inflection, volume, pauses, etc., the meaning of the scene changes. Six sample scenes are included for students practice. Leadership and Problems in Apollo 13
Apollo 13 is an iconic movie that I always used to introduce problem solving. The best scene for this is when the engineers attempt to fix the aircraft by creating a new filter. Because the film is about all of the problems on the Apollo 13 spacecraft and how the astronauts and engineers attempt to bring it home safely, I often had students analyze the problems and assess how they were remedied.

This is a poster that shows the process of script writing using a storyboard.
I created this poster in Microsoft Publisher. The final copy has been saved as a PDF on 9 separate pages. Print out the PDF and put your poster together.
Poster - 24 inches by 30 inches (9 pages). You will cut the pages down and tape them together to make a nice poster. You can also have your poster laminated to make it last longer. That's what I do in my classroom. Then you can reuse the posters year after year.

Use this handout to review the different kinds of listening--appreciative, critical, deliberative, and empathic. Have students watch Bud Abbott and Lou Costello in "Who's on First."
