Positive Self Talk to Teach Flexible Thinking for Kids
Kids often struggle with rigid thinking. Rigid thinking says I need to do things my way and only my way. We need to teach our kids to have flexible thinking. Flexible thinking says I can try new things and do things differently. This is important when your child's schedule changes suddenly, or you don't have the food they want to eat, or their friend wants to play a different game than them.Teach these phrases to your child to use as positive self talk.

Break Cards
Do you have students that need/ask for a break constantly? Maybe you have students that are learning how to request a break before behavior escalates. Either way, these break cards work great! I have it set up so my students can have 3 additional sensory/ brain breaks a day. Each break correlates with a different color. The first time they ask, they take a green card and circle how they are feeling. The second time they ask, they take a yellow card. The third time they ask, they take a red card.
