I sent a parent letter home for permission before starting the lesson. Included in the zip folder is a handout containing the rules and expectations for the lesson. Students read over and sign the paper and may add extra rules. I was very firm and consistent when teaching the lesson. Any child who broke the rule had to follow the consequences stated.
