This 16-page packet begins with suggestions for enriching learning related to cats or other pets. It includes a 4-page passage about the black cats, including why they are considered bad luck as well as good luck. This is followed by directions about taking notes using a Cornell note taking form. Students are then directed to write a one-page summary based on their note-taking. There is an answer key for the note-taking. The passage is written at a grade 8 reading level.
