Many students with pragmatic and language disabilities have difficulty understanding when their thoughts/ideas are ones that should be said aloud or whether they should be kept in their heads. This Notebook activity teaches the idea of “speech bubble” vs. “thought bubble” and reviews when it is okay or not okay to share something. Specifically, it teaches the students to think about whether this is the right time, the right place, the right audience, or whether it will hurt someone’s feelings. T

Self-Advocacy Around the House! (Distance Learning - Interactive Lesson)
Welcome to a tool that will help students learn to self-advocate in their most natural environment - their home. This interactive activity provides students with scenarios to practice self advocacy skills in 4 different contexts around the house. The student will first be prompted to identify or define the problem, then think about who they can approach to ask for help, then finally come up with what they would say to ask for help.
