The War that Saved My Life Analyzing Text and Balanced Literacy
This is a 2016 Newberry Honor Book by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley. It is historical fiction set in England prior and during World War II. It tells the story of an abused, disabled girl and her fight for her own freedom from her life of abuse. I have read it three times now, and I love it more each time.
