Students can use this template to write a letter about a book they read. It addresses theme, characters and setting. It is an excellent culminating activity for a novel unit.
This project requires students to analyze 3 different musical genres through a multi-media project. The project is comprised of the following components: 1 page analytical writing task; poster; class presentation (scoring rubric for class presentation is available in my store: http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Laura-Lopez-Creative-Corner).
Students will choose their hero, either living or deceased. Then, using the given worksheets, they'll complete a pre-write, first draft, peer edit, and revisions. Their final draft will be evaluated using the given rubric.
Students will use simile, metaphor, hyperbole, and personification in interactive activities. These four easy to implement activities fully engage students using kinesthetic and verbal modalities.
Sentence sort is a fun interactive way for students to practice identifying and understanding the different types of sentences. Students place the sentence types at the top and sort the sentences into each category.
Peer reviewing is often a difficult task for students. After reviewing how to give feedback, supply students with these templates to guide their own feedback. One piece of positive feedback, one piece of constructive feedback!
