I have been teaching Special Education for 11 years, and it is my passion! I have taught junior high (6th-8th) English, Math, Science, and History. I have also taught high school English (9th-12th), P.E., Music, ASB (Associated Student Body), Health, Yearbook, Photography, and Journalism.
I believe that rapport with students is what allows a teacher to be an effective educator. My teaching style relies heavily on the connections I make with my students. We do a great deal of class discussion and group projects. I also believe that it is imperative that teachers find fun, high-interest materials and activities for students to utilize and engage in. These materials and activities should be designed in a way that allows for individualization to accommodate students' unique needs, and should encourage students to explore concepts and create high quality products with scaffolded guidance provided by the materials and/or teacher.

Both of my parents are educators. My mother was the assistant principal of my elementary school, and my father was the assistant principal of my high school. I highly value the years of observation I was privy to as the child of educators! I have had the opportunity to be raised in an environment where learning was a priority, and my creativity was fostered. I have been immersed in education my entire life, and am highly passionate about my vocation! My mission in life is to pass that passion on to future generations.
