Elf in the Classroom Arrival Letter - No mention of Christmas or Santa!
I was on the hunt for a letter to have my Elf bring with him when he makes his debut in my classroom next week, but wanted one that didn't specifically mention Santa or Christmas. No luck so I wrote my own poem telling a little about the Elf and reminding the students to be on their best behavior this holiday season.
Attached is the letter in the .doc file so you can replace any of the text that you choose. The elf's name in the letter is Tinsel, but you can edit as you choose.

The Nutcracker: A Craft-ivity
Students love the story of the Nutcracker. Included in this document is a re-telling of the story and a fun project! Students color and cut out a nutcracker doll, then glue him to an empty paper towel roll for a 3D nutcracker of their very own. Attached is three letters that I use with my parents. The first being a welcome letter, telling a bit about myself and what to expect, the second thanking them for the gifts (could be used for teacher appreciation week or winter break gifts), and the last at the end of the year thanking them and wishing them well in their future. You can customize these as you like, adding your own personal touch. I find it helpful to have a template to start with so I hope you find this useful!

Snowman Ornament Gift Tag
This gift tag includes a cute poem! I painted the students' hands with white paint and they put their handprint on an ornament. When the paint dried, they decorated their snowmen (fingers) and the gift tag was attached!
