Tacky The Penguin the Musical Original Script
A complete script adapted from the favorite children's book "Tacky the Penguin" by Helen Lester. Could be used as reader's theater or as a complete production. Can be used for as few as 15 or as many as 70 children. Includes lyrics to songs. This play was performed at my school with 60 kindergarteners and was a huge success. In the compressed file there are four PDF files of songs that I wrote to go with a kindergarten production of Maurice Sendak's "Where The Wild Things Are." It was performed last year and everybody loved it. All the music is original and all of the words are original. I did not include the script I used because it basically follows the book. There were a few spots where I added a few lines for group response. Each of these songs was sung more than once as dictated by the storyline.

I wrote this song for my school's 6yo Prep students who are reading Patrice Karst's lovely book titled The Invisible String (see the YouTube video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rZNTFf35Aw). The key of C major makes ukulele accompaniment really easy and achievable for older students also (which might encourage a joint effort between young singers and older ukulele players - more invisible string connections!).
