The decision to support the British Crown or the American rebels in the Revolution was not an easy one with clear bad guys and good guys. I use this play during an Industrial Revolution unit in my economics class. I use it to supplement what we are learning at that time. It takes about 10-15 minutes for the whole activity, including the discussion. It is a great way to learn about some of the revolutionary changes occurring at that time.

Valentine King & Queen Persuasive Writing & Activity
Students will learn about the election process, making nominations, running a campaign, secret ballots, and writing persuasive speeches to convince voters who to crown as Valentine King and Queen as class leadership roles. This is usually done two weeks before Valentine's Day to run campaigns and write speeches.
