Social Skills Unit based on My Mouth is a Volcano by Julia Cook
This mini-unit is designed to teach and review with students the importance of being polite, respectful friends by not interrupting. Taking turns is an important life skill that students need to practice and learn. The unit can be used to teach and/or review with students in pre-K through 5 grade at any level, including a great resource for special education. Square Peg in a Round Hole Activity Resources
This activity was presented at the 2020 Space Exploration Educators' Conference!The name is based on the Apollo 13 situation trying to develop a solution to filter the carbon dioxide. Planning a Healthy Meal and Shopping Template (Special Education)
This is a meal planning guide that incorporates the 5 basic food groups. Students will use a cookbook to decide on the main course of the meal, and from there will add on side dishes to help balance the food groups presented in the meal. Students will then make a shopping list of the needed materials. If applicable, they can shop for the food items at the store, working to find the total cost of purchase, use the "dollar up" method to pay, and calculate the amount of change they should get back.
