Algebra 1 - Performance Task - Trading Vehicles - Common Core
This activity requires students to research the cost and gas efficiency of two vehicles. Then the students must use algebra to decide if the owner should trade in a gas guzzler for a hybrid.
This should take 1.5 days - Key is included.
The goal is to prepare students for the type of questions found on common core standardized assessments like the PARCC/Smart Balanced/AIR/STAAR

NFL Statistics Research Project
Students will research the stats of teams to help make predictions on upcoming games. You will decide what games to pick. Students will need to find stats such as points allowed/scored, passing yards, rushing yards... etc. They will make line/bar graphs with this data then solve for various central tendencies. OGT Math Vocabulary
This powerpoint lists common math vocabulary words found on the Ohio Graduation Test (OGT). A big part of being able to answer the questions is knowing what the question is asking (the vocabulary). As test preparation, I had my students use computers to look up each of the words in a list. They were to give a definition and an example or picture of each word.
