Hello!
This project is a really fun way to build community in the classroom as well as to boost morale for students! I have done this project with students ranging from PreK to Graduate school. I even included a "favorite song" so that we can build classroom music playlists.
My students had so much fun getting to know the history behind their names (by interviewing their elders) and then sharing them with their classmates!

During the month of October, our students focus on reading biographies. Our team has our students choose a biography to read, then the students fill in this report form I created. Next, students purchase a pumpkin and decorate it to look like the person they have researched. The decorating is done at home. They use paint, yarn, baseball caps, etc. to decorate.
