Weight Sorting Worksheet - Ounces, Pounds or Tons?
I created this sort for my students to practice determining if an object should be weighed using ounces, pounds or tons. Students simply read the words and decide if the item is light and should be measured in ounces, or heavier, and should be weighed in pounds. Really heavy things should be weighed in tons. They then cut, sort and record the words into the correct category. This can be used for morning work, whole group guided practice, small group work, independent practice or an assessment.

give each student a cookie jar (the one with cookie monster on it) give each student 10 cookies (i used cookie crisp the cereal) use the big cookie jar as an example on the document camera.
