Muscle Fatigue lab activity
I use this lab when my students are learning about the muscles. It is a fun lab as long as your students don't get too rowdy. I only do an activity for 2-3 minutes. Lab activity- Blood typing
This lab activity has students solve a medical dilemma. A couple (the Chesterton's) have been in a car accident. They are fine, but their one year old baby is injured and needs a blood transfusion. Your students must act as doctors and determine the best course of action. After they determine the baby's blood type, they discover that the hospital is short on blood. Taste Test Lab
Students will have a great time exploring their taste and scent senses with this lab! Teachers, you will need: jelly beans, skittles, goldfish and dark chocolate in order to have students complete the lab per these procedures.Students will have the opportunity to work in groups and determine what flavors they are tasting while blindfolded. A short experiment where students get to build a model of the chest cavity and one lung. Once completed, the model will actually simulate the ventilation of the lung as the model diaphragm is moved up and down. Helps solidify the concept of breathing occurring because of changes in air pressure.

This is a great lab activity for students learning about the brain and the nervous system. When doing this lab - I use sheep brains (purchased through a science catalog).
