Visual STEM BELL RINGERS WEEK 6 (free for limited time).
This is the 6th week of the weekly STEM Bell Ringer series. This pack covers African American Scientists in honor of Black History Month. It also covers basic topics such as: constraints, manufacturing and production costs, fixed inputs and variables, four types of engineering drawings, and trade - offs. Basically, there are 20 STEM questions and answers with visual cues. Please check out the preview file to see a sample of how the questions are formatted.

STEM in French - Eiffel Tower Challenge - Cultural Hands-On Collaboration
This is a hands-on activity that brings engineering and creativity into the foreign language classroom through cultural exploration. Students work in groups using typical classroom art supplies to construct the best reproduction possible.

Intro to Magnetic Levitation
This lesson is designed to introduce kids to the technology behind magnetic levitation (maglev). During this session we will discuss what maglev is and how it’s used now and in the future. Finally we will build mini maglev trains using the materials shown to the left and have a drag racing competition.

Eiffel Tower Activity
Use this PPT to introduce and act out the history of the Eiffel Tower during WWII. Then have students break up into teams and make their own Eiffel Towers out of stacking cups. Give each time something throwable (marshmallows, cotton balls, paper balls, etc) and have them try to knock down the other teams towers. Template for cutting Sulbasutra / Vedic / Ancient Indus geometry blocks
The people of the ancient Indus Valley explored and solved complex geometry problems. Here are templates for cutting the basic blocks out of craft foam (or paper or anything). I really likedthis article which gives a number count of each block and a two ways of assembling a syenaciti design. There are quite a few other articles online describing the history and geometry. Each layer of the vedic altar should be 200 blocks exactly and when stacked the seams should not overlap.
