Students work in groups to make a decision while trying to represent an assigned form of government. I decide on the monarch for "monarchies." Students discuss what movie they would like to watch and, once a decision has been made, answer questions such as how long it took, whether they had any part in the decision, and whether they agree with the group decision. Class Election Project
This project was used in my grade 4 class. We learned about politics, strategizing, time management, presentation skills and teamwork through this project. It was due the day before 'international balloon day', so I called it balloons and ballots.The reflection tied into our well-being unit. We talked about how it feels to be defeated at a task, how it feels when fake news is spread about you, etc.
