3rd Grade Reading STAAR Bingo Vocabulary Game
I created this bingo game while looking at previous STAAR tests and lists of “stem questions” for reading. I noticed many of my students (especially my ELLs) had trouble with terminology used on the test. I wanted a fun way for them to become more familiar with the test vocabulary.
I used this game whole class, small group, during tutoring, and I even gave it to my Tier II and Tier III teachers who were enlisted to help prepare them for the reading test.

Reading Tables to Interpret Science Data for ACT ASPIRE
This is a table of climate data on five different biomes. The students are asked to use the data in the table to answer a variety of questions. They must interpret the information given in order to answer the questions. There are multiple choice, sorting, and open ended questions. It is similar to the type of questions seen on the science part of the ACT Aspire.

Escape room style activity for STAAR review
This activity is a puzzle based, escape room style challenge activity where students receive clues, answer questions from released STAAR tests, get hints, and try to beat the clock to escape an alien ship.
I used a paired text from the 2017 5th grade released reading STAAR, it would be easy to simply delete the questions and have them complete questions from another grade level or even another subject.
They basically get a puzzle, then must answer 3 STAAR questions before you give them a hint
