TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have eight years of teaching experience in both middle school and high school, teaching life science, earth science, biology, chemistry, engineering, anatomy and physiology. I also have seven years of experience in biomedical research with multiple publications.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is a mix of rigor and higher order thinking with hands on lab experiences within the science classroom. I prefer for the students to work closely with one another and I promote a high degree of collaboration. Within my classroom, I have implemented a science interactive notebook that functions as an organizational tool and is geared toward all learning styles.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have been voted most challenging teacher three years in row by student votes. I have also been awarded multiple grants for classroom resources to enhance my instruction.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a Bachelors degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry, as well as a Masters in Educational Leadership.
