TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching English since 2013 and have taught English 1 repeaters through English 4 Honors, and English 3 AP. I have taught ACT prep as well but I prefer to stick to the literature and creative writing side.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to use collaboration and projects in my classroom. I also like to empower students by giving them choices in how they complete their work. Instead of essays, I typically use choice boards to try and reach as many different learning styles as possible.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi and Pi Gamma Mu. Phi Kappa Phi is an honor society for all academic disciplines and Pi Gamma Mu is an international honor society for social sciences.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated summa cum laude from Radford University in 2013 with a major in English - concentration in Education, and minor in history.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a teacher, mother, and an advocate. I don't apologize for the space I take up, which is why I am The Unapologetic English Teacher.
