TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have experience teaching all levels of English Language Arts 7-12, including English Language Development, as well as, Spanish 1, Journalism, AP Language and Composition and AP Literature and Composition.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a practitioner in the following teaching styles: Gradual Release of Responsibility, Constructing Meaning, Love & Logic, Rick Morris Management, Cooperative Learning Strategies, and GLAD.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

The highest honors I have received come from my students who have expressed my positive influence in their lives. I'm ecstatic when I have students who "ditch" their other classes in an attempt to come back to my class - - that is the highest honor I can imagine :)

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a major in Journalism, as well as Latin American Studies. I have a minor in Spanish, which led me to pursue my BCLAD Credential in Spanish, with my area of classroom emphasis in Single Subject English.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am in my tenth year of teaching and hope to share my ideas and materials with others, to collaborate on a global scale, and make other teacher's lives easier at the same time! My passion is for language and literature and instilling a love of these in my students.
