TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught 5 years of 4th and 5th grade ELA, 2 years of 2nd grade, 2 years in K/1, and now I am happily teaching 1st grade in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I enjoy using literature circles and book clubs as much as possible to encourage social reading. One of my biggest goals every year as I teach reading is to make my students LOVE reading and find the books that they truly enjoy. There is something for everyone!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I broke a plastic trophy that my class got for perfect attendance... does that count?

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from Boston College in 2011 with degrees in English and Spanish, then continued on to University of Missouri - St. Louis for my MEd in Secondary Ed. and Literacy Specialist degrees.
