Description

This 12 page script is a reader's theater performance of the Pam Munoz Ryan novel, "Esperanza Rising." The play is broken into 2 acts (9 scenes) and lists the characters involved in each act. When I did this play with my 5th graders, I had one of my 5th grade classes perform the 1st act, and the other class perform the 2nd act.

You may edit this script however you'd like - it's a fun classroom lesson to decide what needs to be added/taken away to stay true to the meaning of the novel. Students have the freedom to perform the parts how they see fit and according to how they interpreted the novel.

This play is a fabulous conclusion to reading the novel, and allows students to really interpret the book they read and connect with the characters and messages in the story. Your students will love it!

If you and your students enjoy this play, please rate! Thank you!
