I've spent 4 years in high school agriculture and a year in 4-H and other nonformal, agricultural education. I've taught a wide range of students of different ages, backgrounds, and learning abilities.
It's important to me for my students to get the full learning experience, from low-order to high-order thinking. I love making learning fun and making lessons personalized to my individual students. My classroom always has music, an occasional snack, and a classroom culture that celebrates learning and supporting each other.
This is my 3rd year as an FFA National Teacher Ambassador. I have the fun opportunity to speak to other agriculture teachers and pre-service teachers from across the country about using National FFA Educator Resources in their classroom.
I joined agriculture in 9th grade because it was the "cool" class, but soon found a love for all things agriculture. Before I knew it, I was a chapter officer and went on to get my FFA American Degree. So, I know the impact that a good teacher can have on a student! I then attended North Carolina State University for Agriculture Education & Extension (AEE). While here, I was in the AEE Club, MANRRS, and study abroad in the UK.
I'm a Jesus follower, army wife and mama to 2. I love sparkles, cows, and shopping. I'm a big fan of hand-written notes, reading a good book, and trying something new.
