I have had the pleasure of teaching Spanish for over 14 years. I've taught students ranging from grades K-8 and tutored all levels.
I believe in a communicative approach allowing students to experience language. I like my students to be up and moving and of course, talking in Spanish! I use a variety of songs, games, and manipulatives to make class as engaging and enjoyable as possible. I also have created many pair and small group information gap activities that allow students to advance their language skills in a fun way.
I've been a presenter at the annual World Language Conference, a co-writer of curriculum, and have helped develop an engaging and articulated Spanish program for my district. Hearing how much my students love Spanish class and how prepared they are at the next level is the best reward of all.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Education, with a major in K-12 Spanish, minors in geography and language arts. My Master's degree is in Second Language Acquisition and Linguistics.
