TEACHING EXPERIENCE

After teaching kindergarten for 15 years, I decided to explore other grade levels. I taught 2nd grade, gifted resource K-5 for several years, 1st grade, and then decided I was meant to be a kindergarten teacher. I'm happily teaching kindergarten for my 27th year of teaching, 24th in Kindergarten, and I'm right at home.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is very organic, centered on students' hearts and minds. I believe in establishing safety and connection before diving into academics I have a Conscious Discipline classroom and all of my students can tell you what that means. By following the needs of my students and creating a highly structured classroom, my students are able to thrive with clearly defined and expected rituals and routines that include tons of choices for my independent learners!
