Description

A big focus in Common Core standards is "Comprehension and Collaboration". This means RESEARCH is becoming an integral part of classroom instruction. Whether it's independent, small group, or whole class, this model will help guide you and your students through the tricky research process!

These posters are aligned with the research process outlined in the IIM - Independent Investigation Method, but can used independently with any content area instruction.

The Independent Investigation Method is a teaching model that guides students through the research process. This process empowers you to enrich your content area instruction with rich research!

Teachers have the flexibility to use the steps to meet the needs of all students with respect to length of the study, age, skills and learning styles. It offers a great way to enrich high level readers to investigate deeper into a subject of interest, challenging content, or as a novel study extension.

Once students have learned the steps, they are empowered to develop their own research process!
