TEACHING EXPERIENCE

For six incredible years, I've been a passionate fifth-grade teacher in a DCPS IB school, guiding students on a remarkable journey. In this lively setting, I've nurtured critical thinking, global awareness, and curiosity while building empathy and cultural appreciation. Working alongside a diverse group of fellow educators, I've seen my students thrive, and their achievements fill me with immense pride. This experience has not only enriched my career but has also helped mold the future leaders who will carry these lessons with them.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I teach with a student-centered approach, focusing on engagement, critical thinking, and all-around growth. My classroom is a lively, inclusive space where each student's unique strengths and needs are celebrated. Drawing from my time in an IB school, I emphasize hands-on learning, encourage questions, and connect lessons to the real world. Through teamwork, problem-solving, and a mix of rigor and compassion, I aim to nurture not just academic skills but also life skills like empathy, resilience, and adaptability, preparing my students for a dynamic world.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

In the 2022-2023 academic year, I was honored with the prestigious DC Scores Excellence Award for coaching soccer, in recognition of my outstanding contributions to the DCPS community and dedication to fostering holistic student development through innovative coaching practices.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

During my time at Towson University, I pursued a dual degree in special education and general education. This journey enriched my teaching knowledge and strengthened my dedication to inclusive education. It gave me the tools to support every student's unique needs, creating a space where everyone can thrive academically and socially. My education at Towson University has shaped me into a compassionate and effective educator, prepared to make a positive impact on my students' lives.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I'm a diverse soul with an insatiable passion for dance – whether it's the rhythmic sway of salsa, the sensual melodies of bachata, or the lively beats of merengue, I'm in my element on the dance floor. Beyond that, I'm a wanderlust-filled adventurer, always chasing new experiences and immersing myself in different cultures through travel. Yet, I'm also deeply connected to the earth, finding joy in growing my own food and tending to flourishing gardens. And in the quiet moments, you might catch me singing just for the sheer pleasure of it, an expression of my inner harmony. To me, life is a vibrant dance of passions, each step crafting a beautiful mosaic that defines who I am.
