I just started my fifteenth year teaching. I began my career as a teacher in second and third grade in an urban district. I taught first grade for the seven years. Since then, I have been teaching third and fourth grade. To this day, I still look forward to learning new things each day! With the common core standards, I strive to align units, lessons and activities for all teachers to find ready and easy to use!
I believe whole heartedly in a classroom that emphasizes positive reinforcement. If you believe in your students and truly believe they can achieve, then they too will believe in themselves! Only when they believe in what they can do, can great learning occur. While creating lessons aligned with the common core, I strive to encourage ALL of my students to take a deeper look at all of the concepts they are learning. I truly believe that they can ALL achieve if they are challenged and supported on their lifelong journey as a learner.
My undergraduate degree is in Elementary Education and Spanish. I went on to receive my master's degree in Elementary Education and a sixth year in Administration.
