TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for 29 years. Most of that time has been spent in the middle school grades, however I have taught students from primary to adult. My favourite subjects are English (essays, stories, poetry, debating, public speaking), History and IT.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am an engaging, organized teacher who is always willing to go the extra mile to help my students succeed. I want students to know that what they are learning will be valuable to them not only today but well into their future.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Scholarship for academic excellence at McGill University. Student representative on Faculty Council at Saint Mary's University. Former consultant and curriculum writer for the MZTV Museum in Toronto. Host teacher for Panasonic Witness News, a program that provides equipment, instruction and challenges for young filmmakers.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelor of Arts, Honours, English Literature, McGill University, Montreal. Bachelor of Education, York University, Toronto. Master of Education, Saint Mary's University, Halifax.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I live in Toronto with my four wonderful kids and my amazing wife, who is also a teacher. In my spare time, I play guitar and write. I also enjoy videography, which I use as part of my teaching practice.
