"How to Write a 5-Paragraph Persuasive Essay" - Video 6 of 9: Planning

Students will at some point be required to write a persuasive essay. This video focuses on planning, and is one part of a series that teachers can use immediately to teach this fundamental skillset. Other parts are about: the persuasive essay (an overview), topic selection, research, the refutation paragraph, types of evidence, and learning to write an introduction, body paragraphs and a conclusion. The whole unit could be taught in a week, and consists of: a 50-slide presentation with all the videos embedded, a 50-page teacher's package with student worksheets, posters, an optional quiz and evaluation. All items will go live in early January, 2021.
