TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Hey there! My name is Jordan Paris, and I'm currently a student at Pace University majoring in Adolescent Education and English (with a concentration in Literature). I currently assist two brilliant middle schoolers through tutoring, while achieving fieldwork and certification to hone my craft in the New York City school system.

MY TEACHING STYLE

What a great thing to learn about someone! I always prioritize establishing a relationship with students that focuses on mental health and wellbeing (lots of affirmations in my classroom!) that balances out with rigorous learning. In my lessons, you'll see all types of resources: I enjoy videos, discussions, hands-on learning, and more. A lot of my teaching is supported by the use of technology (Kahoot is one of my favorite resources!)

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Dean’s List [2016 -2021] LGBT Role Model of the Year [2020], Greenwich Scholarship Association Award [2020] Frederick A. DeLuca Award [2020] NSLS Induction [2021]

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

(This'll be a lot of schools) I've been a student in Virginia, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York over the span of my educational career! This has led me to have great knowledge on different school districts and their curriculums and testing procedures.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

As an at-risk student myself, I've overcome great barriers: I am taking the time to become to role model for my students that I needed in my life. All proceeds towards my resources will assist me in funding college.
