TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a teacher for 21 years. I've taught 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. I am now an Instructional Technology Specialist who helps teachers integrate technology into their curriculum. I believe students should learn in unique and engaging ways that are authentic to their lives and the real world. My lessons teach cross curricular content while including technology and STEAM components.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in teaching in unique and engaging ways that are authentic to students' lives and their world, as well as the real world. I believe technology should be included because it progresses a lesson, not because it is simply flashy. The four C's, STEAM, coding, SAMR, IB Design Cycle and balanced literacy are all best practices that should be incorporated whenever possible.

I have spoken at national, state, and district conferences. I have also been published by ASCD. I am a Google Certified Trainer and have spoken for Google.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a Bachelor's of Science with some Master's work in the field of Education. My work in Title I schools and IB schools has helped me learn to write and orchestrate multi-faceted lessons.
