After we read, "The Monkey's Paw", students use text evidence to show the literary elements that the author uses to create suspense in the story. It's a basic outline for a basic paragraph on a great short story that students enjoy.

This a fun filler speech to be given in the month of October. I have used this speech in my high school speech (oral communications) course with students ranging from sophomores to seniors.
