Four groups of students will each be given separate lists of human innovations from which they must choose the innovation the they deem the greatest. They will then work in sub-groups to research and prepare to defend their innovation choice while also prepare questions that will expose the weaknesses of the other groups' selection.After a impassioned series of questions and responses the students will decide on the greatest human innovation of all time.

This is a rubric for a Geography Research Project that requires students to work collaboratively to encompass the culture of the 6 major world regions. I pre-assigned groups for the students and required each team member to sign up for a fair amount of the 10 components described. This allowed me to grade more accurately and fairly for all students in the group. I had great success with this project and can provide samples if one is interested. Thank you!

I used this rubric on the final project assignments for my 5th-8th grade geography classes. It was a 45point project (paired with a 55 point quiz/test) and it evaluates the research, bibliography, length of writing, quality of writing (grammar, punctuation, structure), as well as creativity, neatness, and presentation.
