This file contains an I can checklist for each ELA common core standard. It provides the learning goal (or the standard which is our long term goal). The learning goal is then broken up by bullets that contain short term goals for the students to attain in order to meet the long term goal. Literature Circles Packet for Nonfiction
I created a literature circles activity packet to be used with nonfiction text. Currently, our advanced first grade readers are using it with some assistance. It is perfect for second and third graders though. The packet includes an explanation of each role and an activity sheet to accompany each one. Most sheets have questions or vocabulary to help the students be successful. The packet also contains a sheet on polite and positive expectations. There's a rubric and self-assessment too.
