Students are exposed to a list of text features, text types, and text structures in order to choose which ones fit the text in front of them. Students are also able to identify author's purpose, key vocabulary, and take notes on key details to determine two main ideas. These features can all be aligned with the Common Core Standards for informational texts as well as with MAP NWEA.
