Worksheet Containing 8th Grade Common Core Assessment type questions to help students prepare for either state assessments or Final Exams. Topics range from:
Linear Equations
Linear Functions
Functions
Volume
Transformations
Exponents
Pythagorean Theorem
Writing Expressions
and More!
This lesson activity allows students to graph functions using a table and graph. While graphing students need to determine if the function is linear or non-linear. While doing these tasks they may start to discover some specific features in the function equations that will help them determine if the function is linear or not without graphing it.

A handout that helps scaffold the slope-intercept form by graphing linear equations through tables and discovering the slope and y-intercepts are in the equation.
With our curriculum, I always like to solidify concepts after my students have explored the ideas. We call them "Toolkits" but I have renamed it a "Cheat Sheet" - it is a word doc so you can edit as you need for your class. This is a 2 page document to be started as a whole group and finished with additional individual practice.
In these notes students will identify rate of change and initial value when given a word problem. Students will turn a word problem into an equation and then make a table and graph. This notes page includes 4 examples.
This product includes an instructional video modeling how to graph and write a linear function given in slope-intercept form. Along with the instructional video, you will find the lesson plan for the concept taught.
